Imam Ameer Hamza completed the memorization of the Qur’an at the age of 12. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and went on to work in the corporate world for a number of years, serving as a Senior Financial Analyst.
Guided by a deep commitment to Islamic learning, he transitioned to sacred studies, completing a diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies with Cambridge Islamic Sciences under Shaykh Mohammad Akram Nadwi. He then earned his ʿĀlimiyyah degree from Qalam Seminary, while also studying with a host of renowned scholars across America.
He later served as Resident Imam at the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, where his work spanned community leadership, education, and program development. Alongside delivering khuṭbahs and offering pastoral care, he taught courses in Tafsīr, Sīrah, ʿAqīdah, and Tazkiyyah. He founded ISM CORE, which expanded into a thriving hub of 150+ annual programs supported by a volunteer network of more than 70 organizers. He also helped design the Islamic Studies curriculum for Salam High School and introduced strategic planning and systems that have strengthened the mosque’s culture and long-term programming.

Sheikh Hassan M. Shah, an esteemed Imam and Quran teacher, serves the Maryam Quran Academy with dedication and profound knowledge. Born in Pakistan, he holds an M.A. in Arabic and Islamic Studies and has earned the Shahdatul-Alamiya certification through the Wifaq-ul-Madaris-ul-Arabia Pakistan (Darse Nizami). As a Hafiz-e-Quran, he combines his educational achievements with a commitment to fostering spiritual growth and understanding among his students.
With over 15 years of experience in teaching Quran and Islamic studies, Sheikh Hassan excels in imparting Quranic and Arabic education with clarity and patience. His exceptional interpersonal and communication skills have enabled him to mentor numerous students, guiding many to become competent Huffaz. With more than two decades of experience leading Taraweeh prayers, he emphasizes nurturing ethical and moral values alongside religious education, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of his students.
