ISLAM: BELIEFS AND TEACHINGS presents Islam as the complete way of life in language easily understood by young people. The author has attempted to give a clear and concise expression of the basic beliefs, duties and teachings of Islam. The book presents the key aspects of the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and short sketches about some of the prominent prophets.

It looks at the part played by the Muslim women Khadijah, ‘Aisha and Fatimah and at the Islamic injunctions about dress, food and drink. It gives a brief outline of Islamic Law (Shari’ah), family life, marriage, the status of women and the political and economic system of Islam. It also incorporates a selection of verses from the Qur’an and some Ahadith.

It is, perhaps, the first attempt to incorporate almost all aspects of Islam in one book. The book will be of great value as a text book on Islam at secondary level. It will be worth reading by young people and adults alike who are interested in knowing and practising Islam.
